Indiana 83, James Madison 62: Yogi Ferrell had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Hoosiers took command early and pounded the Dukes in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton, Ohio.

Will Sheehey added 15 points off the bench for top-seeded Indiana (28-6), which will face No. 9 seed Temple in Sunday's third round of the East Regional. Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller each added 11 points as five Hoosiers finished in double figures.

Freshman Andre Nation continued his strong close to the season and tallied a career-high 24 points to pace James Madison (21-15). Charles Cooke poured in 18 points and was the only other Duke to finish in double figures.

Ferrell scored the game’s first nine points as the Hoosiers hit six 3-pointers and shot 57.1 percent in the first half, taking a 29-10 advantage at the 8:10 mark on a 3-pointer from Oladipo. Sheehey scored four points to close out the first half for Indiana, which settled for a 43-22 lead at the break.

The Hoosiers continued their hot shooting in the second, connecting on 52.7 percent of their shots for the game and stretching their margin to as much as 33 on a dunk by Sheehey with 8:19 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana improved to 10-1 all-time as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. … James Madison G A.J. Davis, who entered Friday averaging 20.5 points over his previous 11 games, was held to seven. … The Hoosiers registered their eighth wire-to-wire victory and led by double figures for the final 35:22.
