Traevon Jackson scored 16 points and Ben Brust added 14 as the Badgers overcame a poor shooting first half to knock off the Wolverines in the Big Ten quarterfinals in Chicago.

Ryan Evans contributed 12 points and fourth-seeded Wisconsin (22-10) shot 60.7 percent in the second half to advance to face top-seeded Indiana in Saturday’s semifinals.

Trey Burke had 19 points and seven assists and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 14 points and nine rebounds for fifth-seeded Michigan (26-7), which had a 10-point lead 12:50 into the game before being outplayed in the second half.

The Badgers rattled off 10 straight points early in the second half to take the lead for good. The advantage reached 56-45 on a 3-pointer by Brust with 6:01 left before Michigan scored nine straight points, only to see Wisconsin answer with a 10-2 run to put the game away.

Wisconsin was just 5-of-29 shooting in the first half but was only down 20-17 at the break. Michigan had a 16-6 lead with less than seven minutes left before the Badgers closed the half with an 11-4 burst.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wisconsin has won 12 of the past 13 meetings. … Hardaway Jr. left the game briefly in the first half after spraining his left ankle. … The Badgers were 16-of-21 from the free-throw line, compared to Michigan’s 10-of-17 showing.
