Utah 79, California 69 (OT): Jarred DuBois scored 21 points, including a desperation 3-pointer that forced overtime, and the 10th-seeded Utes advanced to the Pac-12 semifinals in Las Vegas.

Jordan Loveridge contributed eight of his 20 points in overtime and Jason Washburn scored 18 for Utah (15-17), which will play third-seeded Oregon in Friday’s semifinals.

Justin Cobbs scored a season-high 26 points for second-seeded California (20-11), which may have damaged its chances of earning an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. Allen Crabbe, the Pac-12 Player of the Year, added 21 points for the Golden Bears.

The Utes went nearly seven minutes without scoring early in the second half but California could only extend its one-point halftime lead to eight. The Golden Bears still led by three points when they elected not to intentionally foul the Utes and DuBois sank a deep 3-pointer with four seconds left to send the game to overtime.

Washburn and Loveridge combined to score the first five points of overtime. A key play came after DuBois missed the second of two free throws with 2:10 left, but the rebound was tipped out by Washburn and he got it back for a short jumper, extending the lead to 69-63.

GAME NOTEBOOK: During the regular season, 45 out of 114 regular-season Pac-12 games were settled by five points or fewer, as well as four of the first six tournament games. … California G Ricky Kreklow, a sophomore transfer from Missouri who was limited to six regular-season games because of a foot injury, scored six points in 18 minutes off the bench. … DuBois scored 15 points in the first half, which ended with California leading 33-32.
