Washington 64, Washington State 62: Scott Suggs scored 19 points and the sixth-seeded Huskies advanced to the Pac-12 tournament quarterfinals despite blowing a 19-point second-half lead in Las Vegas.

C.J. Wilcox added 11 points, Shawn Kemp Jr. scored 10 and Abdul Gaddy contributed nine points and a season-high 11 assists for Washington (18-14), which will play third-seeded Oregon in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Brock Motum scored 28 points for Washington State and matched his career high with five 3-pointers but the senior forward missed his final attempt from beyond the arc with four seconds left. D.J. Shelton added a career-high 19 points and Royce Woolridge scored 12 for the Cougars (13-19).

Washington still led by 15 points with 8:36 left before the Cougars got hot, scoring 15 straight points to tie the score at 62 with 2:50 on the clock. Both teams missed shots before Desmond Simmons sank a jumper for the Huskies for a 64-62 lead with 1:17 remaining and the Cougars couldn’t answer on their final two possessions.

A 14-0 run that began with a Wilcox 3-pointer and ended with a 3 from Suggs gave the Huskies an 18-5 lead with 11:43 left in the first half. The lead ballooned to as much as 15 in the opening 20 minutes before Washington took a 36-25 lead into the locker room.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington coach Lorenzo Romar improved to 14-6 in the conference tournament. His winning percentage of .700 trails only former UCLA coach Walt Hazzard (.750) and former Arizona coach Lute Olson (.727). … Woolridge, the son of former NBA player Orlando Woolridge, scored in double figures in 11 of the last 12 games after hitting that mark seven times in the first 20. … The teams made a combined 18 3-pointers.
