Johnny Dee scored 18 points to lead San Diego, shooting 5-for-10 from 3-point range. Christopher Anderson had 11 points and nine assists and Chris Manresa added nine points and 13 rebounds for the sixth-seeded Toreros (16-18).

The Gaels scored six straight points in overtime on a Waldow tip in and back-to-back baskets by Young to go up 68-64. Manresa scored on a dunk with 2:12 left to cut the deficit to two, but those would be the last points for San Diego.

San Diego led by 10 with 11:24 remaining in regulation but the Gaels chipped away behind Matthew Dellavedova, Levesque and Waldow. Dellavedova, the school’s all-time leading scorer, was 1-for-10 from the floor before he drained a 3-pointer with nine seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dellavedova, who came in averaging 16.5 points and 6.2 assists, finished with seven points and 12 assists. … Waldow lost a tooth as a result of an inadvertent elbow during the second half. He tried to keep playing but had to be taken out to stop the bleeding. … Dee made three 3-pointers in the first 7:35, the last resulting in a four-point play that gave San Diego an 18-6 lead. The Toreros extended the advantage to 14 before taking a 29-26 lead into the half.
