Sam Dekker scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Badgers back from an 11-point halftime deficit and win the third-place game at the Las Vegas Invitational at the Orleans Arena.

Dekker, a 6-7 freshman forward, scored 11 points in the second half. Ryan Evans had his second consecutive strong game for Wisconsin (4-2) with 12 points and seven rebounds. Mike Bruesewitz and Traevon Jackson had 11 apiece for the Badgers.

Arkansas (3-2) was led by B.J. Young with 18 points and Mardracus Wade with a season-high 13.

The Razorbacks used a fast early pace to build a 40-29 halftime lead, forcing eight turnovers and outrebounding the Badgers 25-14. Young and Wade had 10 points each at the half.

Wisconsin began the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers by Ben Brust and Jared Berggren, and Dekker’s 3-pointer eventually tied the score at 45. Bruesewitz then got hot, hitting a 3-pointer to give the Badgers a 53-51 lead and another to extend the advantage to 66-60.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arkansas junior F Marshawn Powell came into the event averaging a team-high 17 points through the first three games but was hampered by foul trouble for the second straight game in Las Vegas. He finished with eight points before fouling out with 57 seconds remaining and totaled 10 points on 5-for-18 shooting at the two-day event. … Berggren, who was coming off a season-high 27 points in the semifinals against No. 12 Creighton, finished with 10 points. … Brust came into the tournament averaging a team-high 14.5 points for the Badgers, but combined for 13 in the two games in Las Vegas.
