Pittsburgh 85, Delaware 59: Talib Zanna had 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Panthers shot 65 percent in the first half and cruised to victory in the consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden.

Pittsburgh (5-1) grabbed a 23-6 lead with 10:10 left in the first half on J.J. Moore’s 3-pointer and never looked back against Delaware (2-3), which trailed 41-21 at halftime. Panthers forward Lamar Patterson had 16 points and nine rebounds.

One game after tying his career-high with 32 points against Kansas State, Blue Hens guard Devon Saddler scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half - including 14 straight Delaware points in one stretch. Kyle Anderson added 10 points, including two of the Blue Hens' four 3-pointers.

Brooklyn native Tray Woodall and Steven Adams scored 13 points apiece for Pittsburgh, which made 15 of its 17 free throws and shot 57.9 percent from the field. The Panthers' bench outscored Delaware's reserves 17-0 in the first half.

Delaware, which fell to 0-10 all-time against Big East opponents, opened the game by missing 11 of its first 12 shots. The Blue Hens shot 37.9 percent for the game and were outrebounded 33-23.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Blue Hens starting forward Josh Brinkley missed the game with a right ankle injury. … Delaware forward Jamelle Hagins had just four points and six rebounds after scoring 12 points and grabbing 15 boards against Kansas State. … Pittsburgh improved to 29-15 all-time at Madison Square Garden.
