Texas A&M 55, Washington State 54: Elston Turner hit a long 3-pointer with 2.4 seconds left to lift the Aggies to a dramatic win in the consolation game of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, Mo.

Turner's shot from several feet beyond the arc at the top of the key capped an 11-5 run to end the game and helped Texas A&M's leading scorer overcome a difficult shooting night. It was just his second basket in 12 attempts from the floor, with one of his misses coming from 3-point range with 28 seconds left and his team down one.

Dexter Kernich-Drew scored 13 of his career-high 16 points after halftime to pace the Cougars (2-3), who led 49-44 with just over five minutes remaining. Washington State seized a 53-51 lead on Kernich-Drew's 3-pointer with 2:13 left.

Turner and Kernich-Drew exchanged misses and Ray Turner made one of two free throws to pull the Aggies (4-1) within a point with 35 seconds left. D.J. Shelton made a free throw seconds later for the Cougars, who watched as Turner dribbled down the clock before nailing the game-winner over Shelton.

Neither team gained much separation in the first half, either. Brock Motum's jumper with 4:35 left started a quick 6-0 burst that gave Washington State a 19-14 advantage just before the break. The Cougars pushed their lead to 26-20 on a Shelton 3-pointer early in the second half before the Aggies scored nine straight points.
