Connecticut 63, Providence 59 (OT): Sophomore guard Ryan Boatright scored 23 points, including the game-winning three-point play, as the host Huskies played spoiler to the Friars' NCAA at-large bid hopes.

Connecticut (20-10, 10-8 Big East) was also led by sophomore forward DeAndre Daniels with 19 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Shabazz Napier chipped in 16 points and also had eight boards.

Junior forward Kadeem Batts scored 14 and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Providence (17-13, 9-9), which entered having won seven of its last eight. Freshman guard Kris Dunn added 11.

With 1:57 to go in regulation, sophomore forward LaDontae Henton answered Napier's triple with a 3-pointer of his own, pulling Providence into a 53-all tie. After the teams exchanged pairs of made free throws, Henton's jumper was blocked and Napier missed a three-quarter court heave, sending the game into overtime.

The Friars were held scoreless until 1:31 remained in the extra period until two Henton free throws tied the game. But the Huskies responded with Boatright's three-point play, and junior guard Bryce Cotton's 3-pointer didn't fall as Connecticut ended its season with a win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Connecticut played its final Big East contest, as the Huskies are ineligible for postseason play due to NCAA Academic Progress Rate penalties. … The Friars will now be the eighth seed in the Big East tournament that begins Tuesday. … Dunn fouled out with 3:16 to play in overtime.
