Kentucky 61, No. 9 Florida 57: Freshman Archie Goodwin scored 16 points and the host Wildcats closed the game on an 11-0 run to upset the Gators and strengthen their case for making the NCAA Tournament.

Julius Mays and Ryan Harrow added 13 points each for Kentucky (21-10, 12-6 SEC), which clinched the No. 2 seed in the SEC tournament. Alex Poythress had nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds as the Wildcats held Florida (24-6, 14-4) scoreless over the last 7:36.

Back-to-back Harrow layups gave Kentucky an 11-2 lead 3:46 into the game, but Murphy scored five straight as Florida rallied back, ultimately entering halftime tied at 31. Soon after a Poythress layup capped an 11-3 run that gave the Wildcats a 42-34 lead with 15:40 to go, the Gators scored eight straight to take a 46-45 lead.

Consecutive 3-pointers from Murphy and Scottie Wilbekin pushed the cushion to 57-50 with 7:36 left, but those would be Florida’s last points. Goodwin scored five straight points and Harrow made two free throws to tie the game at 57 with 4:07 left before Willie Cauley-Stein and Goodwin each made one free throw and Mays went 2-for-2 at the line to seal it with 10 seconds left.
