Kadeem Batts registered 27 points and a season-high 12 rebounds as the Friars beat the Pirates in their home finale to sweep the season series.

LaDontae Henton logged his third double-double in four games with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Providence (17-12, 9-8 Big East), which has won seven of its last eight games. Bryce Cotton scored 15 points while Vincent Council added 13 and seven assists.

Fuquan Edwin led Seton Hall (14-16, 3-14) with 15 points, Eugene Teague and Aaron Cosby scored 13 each and Kyle Smyth pitched in 11. The Pirates trailed 43-36 at halftime and got no closer than five in the second half.

Four Friars players scored on a 10-0 first half run as Providence ran out to a 27-17 lead with 8:41 left in the first half. A Cosby three-point play sparked a 10-1 response as Seton Hall cut its deficit to 28-27 3:02 later before the Friars pushed their lead back to seven at the break.

After two Cosby free throws pulled the Pirates within 59-54 with 8:31 to go, Batts bookended an 8-0 run with a three-point play and a free throw to increase the Providence advantage to 67-54 with 5:32 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Providence had already secured a first-round bye in the Big East Tournament, but moves into a tie with Villanova for the No. 7 seed. The Friars close out their regular-season slate at Connecticut on Saturday. … Henton went 7-for-7 at the foul line. … Seton Hall F Brian Oliver scored 10 points off the bench.
