North Carolina State 70, Georgia Tech 57: Richard Howell scored 18 points as the visiting Wolfpack edged the Yellow Jackets, sweeping the season series for the first time since the 2008-09 season.

T.J. Warren added 14 points for North Carolina State (21-8, 10-6 ACC), which has won five of its last six games to tie Virginia for fourth place in the conference standings. C.J. Leslie logged 13 points and seven rebounds, Scott Wood grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and Lorenzo Brown had a game-high seven assists.

Mfon Udofia led Georgia Tech (15-13, 5-11) with nine points while Daniel Miller and Robert Carter added eight each. The Yellow Jackets shot 22.2 percent from 3-point range and committed 15 turnovers.

Howell scored 10 points in an 18-4 North Carolina State run that gave the Wolfpack a 28-14 lead with 7:36 left in the first half. A 19-6 Georgia Tech response cut the deficit to 36-33 at halftime, but the Yellow Jackets were never able to pull even.

A Tyler Lewis 3-pointer pushed the North Carolina State cushion to 48-41 with 10:49 to go before a Marcus Georges-Hunt layup pulled Georgia Tech within 51-49 with 6:55 left. Leslie converted a three-point play 20 seconds later to spark a game-clinching 10-2 jaunt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: North Carolina State was just 2-6 on the road entering the game. … The Wolfpack shot 9.1 percent from beyond the arc. Wood was 1-for-8 overall. … Georgia Tech has not won back-to-back games in conference play since the end of the 2011-12 season.
