Kentucky 90, Missouri 83 (OT): Julius Mays scored eight of his season-high 24 points in overtime as the host Wildcats stayed in the hunt for an SEC title.

Alex Poythress scored 21 points, Archie Goodwin produced all 18 of his points after halftime and Ryan Harrow contributed 16 points for Kentucky (19-8, 10-4 SEC), which remains two games back of first-place Florida.

Phil Pressey led Missouri (19-8, 8-6) with 27 points and 10 assists, but missed a potential game-winning layup with eight seconds remaining in regulation. Alex Oriakhi had 16 points and 15 rebounds while Laurence Bowers had 13 points before fouling out.

Goodwin’s backdoor cut and layup gave the Wildcats the lead for good at 81-79 with 1:05 left in overtime and Kentucky shot 9-for-10 from the free throw line over the final 47 seconds.

Missouri led by as many as 13 points in the opening half before Kentucky began chipping away. The Wildcats had a five-point advantage with 3:36 left in regulation, but needed a basket by Willie Cauley-Stein with 40 seconds remaining to push the game to overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Missouri and Kentucky met for the first time as conference opponents. … Cauley-Stein, who replaced Nerlens Noel in the starting lineup after he suffered a season-ending knee injury last week, finished with seven points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots. The rebounds matched a career high for the freshman while the blocks were a personal best. … Griffin made his first 3-pointer in the last 12 games – ending an 0-for-14 stretch – to open the second half before finishing 2-for-3 beyond the arc.
