Connecticut 73, Cincinnati 66 (OT): Shabazz Napier scored 11 of his 27 points in the extra session to lift the Huskies over the visiting Bearcats in Big East play.

Napier drained three of his six 3-point baskets in the overtime as Connecticut (18-7, 8-5 Big East) won for the sixth time in eight games. DeAndre Daniels added 17 points and four blocked shots for the Huskies.

Sean Kilpatrick scored 18 points to pace Cincinnati (19-8, 7-7). JaQuon Parker scored 14 points and Cashmere Wright added 10 for the Bearcats, who never led in the overtime after Napier began the session with a 3-pointer.

The Huskies led 43-38 after a basket by Daniels with 17:26 left in regulation before going nearly nine minutes without scoring. Cincinnati didn’t move ahead until after the UConn drought ended as Kilpatrick connected on a 3-pointer to give the Bearcats a 46-45 edge with 8:02 remaining.

Another Kilpatrick 3-pointer gave Cincinnati a 49-47 lead and Parker’s basket and two free throws by Cheikh Mbodj pushed the advantage to six. The Huskies finished regulation on an 8-2 run with Napier forcing overtime with a driving basket with 41.4 seconds left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Huskies were 10-of-19 from 3-point range, led by Napier’s 6-of-9 effort. … Mbodj blocked four shots to raise his season count to 70. … Napier had 11 first-half points as Connecticut led 37-34 at the break.
