Arizona State 69, Washington State 57: Carrick Felix scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the host Sun Devils over the Cougars.

Jahii Carson scored 21 points and Jordan Bachynski had 12 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots for Arizona State (20-7, 9-5 Pac-12).

Brock Motum scored 17 points, Royce Woolridge had 16 and DaVonte Lacy finished with 15 for Washington State (11-16, 2-12), which has lost seven straight.

Carson and Felix combined to score the first 16 points for Arizona State but the Sun Devils didn’t gain separation until a 15-2 run later in the half produced a 31-19 lead. Arizona State took a 36-22 lead into intermission after shooting 52 percent in the opening half, compared to 33.3 percent for the Cougars.

The Sun Devils then scored the first five points of the second half to stretch the lead to 19 and the Cougars never got closer than eight the rest of the way, despite committing only six turnovers all game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arizona State had seven blocks to give it (177) on the season, surpassing the previous school record of 172 set in 2010-11. The Sun Devils need 22 more to tie the Pac-12 record of 199 set by UCLA in 2010-11. … Felix recorded his 11th double-double this season, which moved him into a tie for fourth on the school’s single-season list. … Washington State hadn’t lost seven in a row since it dropped the last seven games in the 2005-06 season.
