Tennessee 82, Louisiana State 72:
Jordan McRae scored a career-high 34 points, making all six of his 3-point attempts, to lead the host Volunteers past the Tigers.

Trae Golden scored 20 points and Jarnell Stokes added 13 points and 11 rebounds for Tennessee (15-10, 7-6 SEC), which improved to 11-3 at home. Following an 88-58 victory over defending national champion Kentucky on Saturday, Tennessee beat LSU to extend its win streak to four games.

Johnny O’Bryant III had 24 points and a team-high eight rebounds to lead LSU (15-9, 6-7), which had its two-game win streak snapped and fell to 3-7 on the road. Anthony Hickey scored 14 points and Malik Morgan added 12.

LSU’s Hickey made a 3-pointer to cut Tennessee’s lead to 29-25 with 4:13 left in the first half, but the Volunteers went on an 11-5 run and took a 40-30 lead into halftime. The Tigers cut it to 71-65 on Hickey’s 3-pointer with 4:09 left but could get no closer.

Tennessee improved to 61-43 in the series against LSU and has won the last five meetings. The Vols are 29-16 against the Tigers in Knoxville.

GAME NOTEBOOK: McRae’s 34 points are the most by a Tennessee player in six seasons. He shot a career-best 13-for-18 from the field. … The Volunteers were 10-for-15 from 3-point range, tying a school record for 3-point field goal percentage (66.7). … Tennessee’s Stokes has 11 double-doubles and is tied with LSU’s O’Bryant III for the SEC lead.
