No. 24 Colorado State 89, Air Force 86: Senior guard Dorian Green scored 22 points and the visiting Rams overcame a career-high 45 points by Falcons guard Michael Lyons to pick up their sixth straight win.

Pierce Hornung finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds and Wes Eikmeier (19), Greg Smith (16) and Colton Iverson (15) all scored in double figures for Colorado State (21-4, 8-2 Mountain West), which defeated Air Force (15-9, 6-5) for the fourth straight time.

Lyons connected on 17-of-25 field goal attempts, including 6-of-13 3-pointers. His point total was the highest by a Mountain West player this season and the third highest in conference history.

Guard Todd Fletcher, who scored 11 points and had six assists, was the only other Falcon in double figures.

Lyons scored 25 points in the first half, hitting 5-of-9 3-pointers, but the Falcons still trailed at halftime, 48-40, despite the fact that Iverson spent the last 8:54 on the bench after picking up his second foul. The Rams led 82-72 with 1:07 remaining on a pair of free throws by Smith, but Lyons scored eight points in the final 45 seconds to make it interesting, including a 3-pointer in the closing seconds for the final points of the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado State, which entered the game No. 1 in the nation in rebounding margin (plus-13.7), finished with a 39-22 edge on the boards and a 18-4 advantage in second-chance points. ... The Rams have not been outrebounded in a game this season. ... Green has scored in double figures in eight straight games.
