North Carolina State 90, Virginia Tech 86 (OT): Scott Wood scored 19 of his team-high 22 points after halftime to help rally the host Wolfpack past the Hokies.

Richard Howell registered his conference-leading 15th double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds, C.J. Leslie added 16 points and nine rebounds and Lorenzo Brown scored 15 for North Carolina State (18-7, 7-5), which remains tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Coast Conference with North Carolina.

Erick Green – the nation’s leading scorer – had a game-high 29 points for Virginia Tech (11-14, 2-10), which lost its eighth straight game. Jarell Eddie added 17 points and Marshall Wood finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

The Hokies led 60-53 with 7:55 remaining, but the Wolfpack came back with 14 unanswered points, highlighted by a four-point play by Wood to take a 67-60 lead with 3:46 to go. But Virginia Tech forced overtime when Eddie tipped in a free throw miss by Green to tie it at with four seconds left.

Eddie hit two 3-pointers to give Virginia Tech an 84-83 lead in overtime but Tyler Lewis put the Wolfpack ahead to stay with a pair of free throws with 51 seconds to go after a Brown steal. Brown added two foul shots 25 seconds later, stole the ball from Green on the next possession and sealed the game with two more free throws.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Green has scored 21 or more points in 23 of 25 games this season. ... Wood started his school-record 126th game for the Wolfpack. ... Brown finished with seven assists to put him over the 500-assist mark (505) for his career.
