Gary Bell Jr. scored 20 points and was 4-of-5 from 3-point range as the Bulldogs stretched their winning streak to seven games by dispatching of the host Gaels in a West Coast Conference showdown.

Kevin Pangos added 18 points and Kelly Olynyk scored 17 as first-place Gonzaga (24-2, 11-0 WCC) increased its lead over Saint Mary’s to 1 1/2 games with a convincing effort to sweep the regular-season series.

Matthew Dellavedova scored 22 points but had just three in the second half as the Gaels (21-5, 10-2) had a nine-game winning streak halted. Stephen Holt added 17 points for Saint Mary’s, which lost for the first time in 14 home games this season.

The Gaels led 33-32 at halftime before Gonzaga scored the first seven points of the second half in a 63-second span. The Bulldogs took a 52-37 advantage on a 3-pointer by Olynyk with 14:45 to play before a spirited 15-4 run by Saint Mary’s cut the deficit to four on Dellavedova’s lone second-half points, a 3-pointer with 6:48 remaining.

Gonzaga’s Drew Barham drained a 3-pointer to start a 10-2 surge that pushed the lead to 66-54 with 3:08 remaining. The Bulldogs increased their lead to 15 on two free throws by Pangos with 1:24 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Zags are 8-1 on the road with the lone loss being a last-second defeat at Butler. … Dellavedova made five of his six 3-pointers in the first half as Saint Mary’s was 12-of-35 from behind the arc. … Gonzaga attempted 24 free throws, making 20, while Saint Mary’s was only 2-for-5.
