Virginia 73, Virginia Tech 55: Joe Harris scored a career-high 26 points as the Cavaliers improved to 15-0 at home and completed a season sweep of the in-state rival Hokies.

Akil Mitchell added 17 points and eight rebounds for Virginia (18-6, 8-3 ACC), which has won three straight and eight of its last nine. Harris hit five 3-pointers - all in the first half - and went 7-for-7 from the foul line.

Erick Green, the nation's leading scorer, had 22 points for the Hokies (11-13, 2-9), who have dropped seven straight. Green was 4-for-17 from the field but hit 11 of 13 free throws. Virginia Tech shot 34.6 percent overall and was 8-for-25 from 3-point range.

The Hokies took their only lead at 18-17 on Marshall Wood's 3-pointer with 10:54 left in the first half, but it lasted only 22 seconds before Teven Jones answered with a 3 to put Virginia ahead for good. The Cavaliers reeled off a 12-0 run to break it open, taking a 36-23 lead into halftime and led by no fewer than 11 the rest of the way.

Virginia Tech went more than five minutes without scoring during the 12-0 spurt in the first half and had a stretch of 6:32 without along with two scoring droughts of more than three minutes in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Virginia improved to 33-2 under coach Tony Bennett when scoring at least 70 points, including 8-0 this season. … Green has scored 20 or more points in 22 of 24 games this season. … The Cavaliers have held nine of 11 conference opponents to fewer than 60 points.
