No. 6 Gonzaga 74, Loyola Marymount 55: Kevin Pangos and Kelly Olynyk each recorded 20 points as the Bulldogs shook off a slow start before cruising past the visiting Lions.

Olynyk was 7-of-8 from the field and 6-of-6 at the line for Gonzaga (23-2, 10-0 WCC), which extended its winning streak to six. Elias Harris added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who have beaten Loyola Marymount 23 straight times at home.

Anthony Ireland matched his career high with 30 points for the Lions (8-16, 1-10), who have dropped eight straight contests. Ireland has scored at least 26 points eight times this season.

Ireland recorded 13 points in the first 10 minutes as the Lions trailed by only two before Gonzaga scored 17 of the final 25 to take a 36-25 at intermission. The Bulldogs held Loyola to 22.6 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes.

The Bulldogs, who have beaten Loyola seven straight times, slowly pulled away while holding Ireland without a point the first 9:52 of the second half. Gonzaga finished with 17 assists on 24 field goals, while the Lions dished out only five on 17.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Olynyk, who also had six rebounds and four assists, is shooting 65.1 percent from the field. … The Lions, who lost to Gonzaga 88-43 on Jan. 31 at home, finished with 11 steals and forced 15 turnovers. … Harris has 1,716 career points, seven behind Ronny Turiaf for fifth on the school’s all-time list.
