Wisconsin 74, Iowa 70 (2OT): Ben Brust scored 18 points and Jared Berggren added 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Badgers survived a big challenge from the visiting Hawkeyes.

Sam Dekker’s 3-pointer with 1:35 left in the second overtime gave Wisconsin (16-7, 7-3 Big Ten) a 67-64 lead and it never trailed again. Ryan Evans contributed 15 points and Traevon Jackson had 13 for the Badgers, who avenged a 70-66 defeat at Iowa on Jan. 19.

Mike Gesell recorded 14 points and Aaron White added 13 for Iowa (14-9, 3-7), which fell to 1-5 in Big Ten road games. Iowa’s Josh Oglesby saw his 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation go in and out, sending the game to extra sessions.

Evans and Brust each had eight points as Wisconsin built an 11-point lead in the first half before the Hawkeyes scored 12 of the last 15 to close within 31-29 at intermission. Berggren’s rebound dunk gave Wisconsin a 40-38 lead with 13 minutes left, but Iowa ran off 13 of the next 15 points for a nine-point advantage.

The Badgers answered with an 11-2 run and with Jackson draining a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 58. Berggren missed a jumper that could have won the game in the final seconds of the first overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Iowa outscored Wisconsin 33-8 off the bench. … Evans also had nine rebounds and five assists for the Badgers, who made 13-of-14 from the free throw line in the two overtimes. … Wisconsin held Iowa’s second-leading scorer Roy Devyn Marble to 1-of-10 shooting and two points.
