Indiana State 76, No. 13 Creighton 57: Jake Odum scored 22 points as the host Sycamores turned in a stellar defensive performance in a rout of the Bluejays.

RJ Mahurin scored a season-high 17 points and Manny Arop added 13 points for Indiana State (15-8, 8-4 Missouri Valley), which limited the nation’s second-leading scorer – Doug McDermott – to eight points and held Creighton to a season-low point total.

Will Artino scored 13 points and was the only player to score in double figures for the Bluejays (20-4, 9-3), who lead the conference by one game over Wichita State and Indiana State.

Odum hit four consecutive free throws over a 44-second stretch in the first half as the Sycamores scored nine unanswered points to turn a one-point deficit into a 26-18 lead with 5:32 before the break.

Creighton pulled to within six points twice later in the first half, but a 3-pointer late in the first and four-point play early in the second half stretched the margin to 15 points. Indiana State answered Gregory Echenique’s run-halting dunk with back-to-back baskets and Mahurin drained a 3-pointer to expand the advantage to 48-27 with 15:50 remaining.
