Georgia 67, South Carolina 56: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 19 points and the visiting Bulldogs posted their third straight victory.

Charles Mann and freshman Kenny Gaines added 11 points for the Bulldogs (10-11, 4-4 SEC), who shot 58.1 percent and won a third straight conference game for the first time in nearly six years.

Freshman Michael Carrera led South Carolina (12-9, 2-6) with 16 points but scored just one point after halftime. Bruce Ellington added 14 points and Brian Richardson chipped 12 as the Gamecocks shot 35.8 percent.

Neither team led by more than four points in the first half, and South Carolina took a 30-29 lead at halftime on Mindaugas Kacinas' three-point play with 29 seconds left. Gaines' 3-pointer gave the Bulldogs a 46-38 edge with 11:48 to play, but Eillington scored six straight points to cut the deficit to 46-44 nearly a minute later.

Caldwell-Pope capped a 12-4 run with a 3-pointer and Georgia took its first double-digit lead at 59-49 with 4:35 remaining. South Carolina countered with a 7-2 run and was within five points after Richardson's 3-pointer with 1:51 to play but could not get any closer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gaines' 11 points were a career high, surpassing his previous best of eight points against Mercer on Dec. 18. Gaines also set a career best with four field goals. ... South Carolina G Brenton Williams, who is the second-leading scorer on the team, had another quiet game with two points on 1-for-4 shooting. He is 1-for-10 from the floor in his last three games following three straight games with 16 points. ... Caldwell-Pope has made at least seven field goals in four of his last five games.
