No. 8 Arizona 57, Washington 53: Nick Johnson had 15 points, four steals and three blocks to help the visiting Wildcats end a five-game losing streak on the Huskies’ home floor in Pac-12 play.

Solomon Hill, Mark Lyons and Kaleb Tarczewski added 10 points apiece as Arizona (18-2, 6-2 Pac-12) moved within one game of first-place Oregon in the Pac-12.

Scott Suggs and C.J. Wilcox each scored 11 points as Washington (12-9, 4-4) lost a fourth consecutive game for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign. Aziz N’Diaye chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Wildcats had a five-point lead with six minutes left before Washington scored seven straight points, with Wilcox sinking the Huskies’ only 3-pointer of the night for a 48-46 lead with 4:37 left. Arizona regained the lead on Johnson’s driving basket with 2:05 left and Johnson made three free throws in the final 41 seconds to protect the lead.

Washington jumped out to a 16-5 advantage in the opening seven-plus minutes. Arizona rallied to take a 21-20 lead on Johnson’s basket with 4:36 left in the half before the Huskies finished strong for a 28-23 lead at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Both teams were hounded by sloppy play and committed 17 turnovers apiece. … Abdul Gaddy also scored 10 points for the Huskies. … The teams were a combined 4-of-30 from 3-point range - Arizona went 3-of-18 and Washington was 1-for-12.
