Trey McKinney Jones finished with a game-high 15 points and Durand Scott and Kenny Kadji added 11 points each for Miami (15-3, 6-0 ACC), which is 6-0 in conference play for the first time in school history. The Hurricanes played as an independent before joining the Big East for the 1991-92 season.

Florida State, coming off a dramatic 60-57 come-from-behind victory over Clemson on Thursday, kept the game close for the first 17 minutes and trailed by two points 28-26 after a 3-pointer by Terry Whisnant with 3:19 remaining before halftime. But Miami, with Jones scoring five points, started to pull away with a 9-2 run en route to a 37-28 halftime edge.

Miami blew the game open with a 17-3 run midway through the second half to make it 58-35, and Florida State never got any closer than 17 points the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami improved to 9-0 at the BankUnited Center this season. ... The game was a sellout, which marked the first time the Hurricanes have had back-to-back sellouts at the BankUnited Center. Miami also sold out Wednesday night's 90-63 upset of No. 1 Duke. ... Florida State finished with just six assists on 16 field goals.
