BOXSCORE | RECAP
Indiana 75, Michigan St 70
When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, January 27, 2013
Where: Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Indiana
Officials: # Bo Boroski, # John Higgins, # Michael Kitts
Attendance: 17472

No. 8 Indiana 75, No. 11 Michigan State 70: Victor Oladipo had 21 points and seven rebounds during one of the finest all-around performances of his career as the host Hoosiers ended the Spartans’ six-game winning streak.

Oladipo also recorded a career-high six steals and matched a career high with three blocks for Indiana (18-2, 6-1 Big Ten).

Freshman Gary Harris - Indiana's 2012 Mr. Basketball - hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 points while Adreian Payne added 18 points and nine rebounds for Michigan State (17-4, 6-2), which hit a season-high 11 3-pointers.

In a game that featured the two best field-goal percentage defenses in the conference, both teams had little trouble shooting better than 50 percent for the majority of the contest, although Oladipo appeared to be everywhere at times on defense and contributed greatly to Michigan State’s 19 turnovers – its most in conference play.

Despite not leading by more than six points in the second half, the Hoosiers did not let the Spartans draw even at any point. After Harris’ dunk moved Michigan State to within 71-70 with 3:33 left, the Spartans missed their final four shots and committed three turnovers as both teams began to wear down from the frenetic pace that defined most of the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Payne set a career high with two 3-pointers in the first 3:43 and finished 3-of-4 beyond the arc, missing a desperation shot in the final seconds. Payne, who made one of his four 3-point attempts over the first 87 games of his Michigan State career, connected on six straight attempts over the last five contests before the last-second miss. … Indiana – tied for sixth in the country in field goal percentage – shot better than 50 percent for the first time in four games. … The Spartans' leading scorer Keith Appling was limited to three points in 19 minutes before fouling out while the Hoosiers' leading scorer Cody Zeller was held to nine.
