Arizona State 98, Southern California 93 (OT): Evan Gordon scored a game-high 28 points and the Sun Devils held off the visiting Trojans in Pac-12 play.

USC's Jio Fontan hit a 3-pointer with one second left to send the game into overtime tied at 85. But Fontan, who matched his career high with 25 points, missed another 3-pointer that would have tied the game with four seconds to play in the extra session.

Arizona State (15-4, 4-2 Pac-12) got 21 points from Jahii Carson to snap a two-game losing streak. Carrick Felix added 16 for the Sun Devils, who led nearly the entire second half but couldn't put the game away. USC's J.T. Terrell finished with 20 points and helped the Trojans (8-12, 3-4) close the gap with two 3-pointers in the final 22 seconds.

The Sun Devils led by as much as eight in the first half but the Trojans rallied to tie the game at 42 at the break. Arizona State made 25-of-36 from the free-throw line but missed three attempts from the stripe in the final minute of regulation to open the door for Fontan's dramatic 3-pointer.

Arizona State never trailed in the extra session as Gordon and Jonathan Gilling both hit 3-pointers in the early going. USC finished 15-for-28 from 3-point range while falling to 1-2 under interim coach Bob Cantu.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cantu, who took over for the fired Kevin O'Neill, got his first win with the Trojans in last Saturday's 69-68 victory over Oregon State. ...Fontan also scored 25 points in his very first collegiate game. ...USC's Eric Wise finished with 19 points and Byron Wesley added 15.
