No. 4 Syracuse 57, No. 20 Cincinnati 55:
Michael Carter-Williams collected 16 points and seven assists as the host Orange came alive late to edge the Bearcats.

C.J. Fair and Brandon Triche added 13 points apiece for Syracuse (18-1, 6-0 Big East), which has won 35 straight home games.

Sean Kilpatrick went 6-of-15 from 3-point range en route to 21 points for Cincinnati (16-4, 4-3), which struggled to 32.7 percent from the floor against the Orange’s 2-3 zone defense. The Bearcats recorded 32 of their 55 total field goal attempts from beyond the arc trying to shoot over the zone.

Cincinnati led by as many as seven points with less than five minutes left before Syracuse began to claw its way back. Triche hit back-to-back jumpers to spark an 8-3 run before Carter-Williams followed a free throw on the other end with a 3-pointer to knot it at 55 with 1:24 to play.

The Bearcats turned it over on their next possession and the Orange called a timeout to set things up. Jerami Grant drove the lane and missed a wild layup attempt, but Fair was there for the offensive rebound and tip-in to put Syracuse on top.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cincinnati went 10-of-32 from 3-point range. The Bearcats shot 20.7 percent in the first half to go into the break down 22-18. … Carter-Williams, who committed eight turnovers in an upset at then-No. 1 Louisville on Saturday, turned it over three times against the Bearcats (all in the first half). … Cincinnati will not face another ranked team until a trip to No. 23 Notre Dame on Feb. 24.
