No. 24 Cincinnati 71, Marquette 69 (OT):
Sean Kilpatrick scored a career-high 36 points, including the game-winning layup with six seconds left in overtime, lifting the host Bearcats to the Big East victory.

Kilpatrick scored seven of Cincinnati’s eight points in overtime, surpassing his previous career-best of 32 points during that stretch. Titus Rubles finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Bearcats (16-3, 4-2 Big East), who ended a three-game home losing streak.

Vander Blue had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Marquette (13-4, 4-1), which saw its six-game winning streak snapped. Davante Gardner added 15 points and 11 rebounds despite shooting 1-for-8 from the floor.

The Golden Eagles shot 5-for-28 in the first half (17.9 percent) and gave up 10 offensive rebounds while falling behind 29-13. They scored the first five points of the second half to start the comeback, however, and eventually tied the score on Trent Lockett’s tip-in with 45 seconds left and again on two free throws by Gardner with 2.9 seconds remaining in regulation.

Cincinnati played without second-leading scorer Cashmere Wright, who suffered a left knee injury Tuesday against DePaul.
