Connecticut 99, DePaul 78: DeAndre Daniels recorded a career-high 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Huskies took a big lead early and rolled over the visiting Blue Demons.

Ryan Boatright contributed 22 points for Connecticut (11-3, 1-1 Big East), which improved to 8-0 at home. His backcourt partner – Shabazz Napier – added 16 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four steals for the Huskies, who dominated on the backboards 46-26.

Brandon Young led the way with a career-high 35 points for DePaul (10-6, 1-2), which saw its four-game win streak in true road games snapped. Cleveland Melvin added 18 points and five blocks for the Blue Demons.

The Huskies scored the first nine points of the game and led 31-11 just 8:23 into the contest. Boatright poured in 16 points and Daniels had 15 on 5-of-6 shooting from the field as Connecticut built a 54-34 lead at intermission.

DePaul started the second half on a 13-4 run to pull within 12 points. The Blue Demons were within 65-51 before the Huskies put the game away by scoring the next 10 points, including a spinning dunk by Boatright.

GAME NOTEBOOK: DePaul starters Donnavan Kirk and Charles McKinney were suspended for the game due to a violation of team rules. Kirk and McKinney average more than 11 points combined. … The Huskies defeated the Blue Demons for the eighth straight time and lead the series 9-1. … Connecticut had been outrebounded in 11 of 13 games prior to Tuesday.
