Baylor 82, Texas Tech 48: Pierre Jackson posted 18 points and seven assists as the visiting Bears pounded the Red Raiders and collected their 13th straight win over an in-state opponent.

Cory Jefferson complemented Jackson’s effort with 17 points and eight boards while freshman Isaiah Austin tallied 17 points for Baylor (10-4, 2-0 Big 12), which defeated Texas Tech (8-5, 1-1) for the fourth straight time in Lubbock.

Jaye Crockett had 13 points off the bench and was the only player to finish in double figures for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech trailed by just two points following a layup by Dejan Kravic at the 14:46 mark of the first half, but the Bears pulled away with a 17-2 run over the next 6:58. After Crockett temporarily ended Texas Tech’s scoring woes, Jackson scored seven straight points to help Baylor take a 42-23 lead at intermission.

The Bears picked up where they left off in the second half, hitting their first five – and 13 of their first 20 –shots after the break to stretch their margin to 79-40. Baylor shot 53.6 percent for the game and drained eight of its 14 3-point attempts while holding Texas Tech to a season-low 30.5 percent from the field.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Baylor interim coach Jerome Tang guided Baylor to its second straight win as Scott Drew served the final game of his two-game school-imposed suspension for minor recruiting violations. … Texas Tech, which entered Tuesday having scored at least 60 points in 11 of its 12 contests this season, turned in its worst offensive performance since a 77-48 loss at Baylor on Feb. 27, 2012. … The Red Raiders have shot no better than 25 percent from the 3-point line in six of their last seven games, including a 20.8-percent showing against the Bears.
