Where: Fifth Third Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio
Officials: # Mike Roberts, # Michael Stephens, # Mike Stuart

No. 16 Notre Dame 66, No. 20 Cincinnati 60: Jerian Grant scored 19 points and Scott Martin nailed four 3-pointers as the Fighting Irish pulled away from the host Bearcats and recorded their 12th straight win.

Martin finished with 12 points and Jack Cooley tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and a key block late for Notre Dame (14-1, 2-0 Big East), which matched its longest winning streak in the 12-year tenure of coach Mike Brey.

Sean Kilpatrick scored 15 points to pace Cincinnati (13-3, 1-2), which has lost three of four after a 12-0 start.

The Bearcats managed to take a nine-point advantage in the first half, but an efficient offensive effort – including a 6-for-8 showing beyond the arc – enabled the Irish to answer and take a 32-28 lead at intermission.

After Notre Dame stretched the margin to 11 points early in the second half, Cincinnati managed to pull even at 49, but a 13-2 run by the Irish restored a double-digit advantage. The Bearcats once again rallied to within 64-60 with 22 seconds remaining, but Cooley blocked Cashmere Wright’s 3-point attempt with 14 seconds left and Pat Connaughton hit two free throws to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wright collected an assist on Cincinnati’s first possession to move past Bearcat legend Oscar Robertson for sole possession of fourth place in school history. He finished with seven for the game and has 432 for his career. … Notre Dame shot 50 percent from the field – the fifth straight game it has done so – and finished 9-of-16 beyond the arc, the third consecutive contest the Irish have made at least half of their 3-point attempts. … The Bearcats dropped their third straight home game for the first time since 2007.
