Colorado surged to a 13-2 lead just over five minutes into the game as Arizona State missed eight of its first nine shots. The Buffaloes stretched the advantage to 17-4 before the Sun Devils began chipping away, eventually cutting the deficit to three at the half.

The Sun Devils finally went ahead 41-39 on a layup by Felix with 12:40 remaining in the game and didn’t trail again. Carson, who came in averaging 17.5 points, went scoreless until converting a layup with 5:26 remaining - part of an 11-0 run that stretched the lead to 55-43.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After starting the overtime loss Thursday against No. 3 Arizona, Colorado freshman F Xavier Johnson was replaced in the starting lineup by senior G Sabatino Chen. He finished with four points, the only bench points for the Buffaloes. ... Colorado F Andre Roberson, who entered the week averaging 12 rebounds, finished with 13 on Sunday - including four of his team’s 15 on the offensive end. … Nine of Colorado’s games this season have been settled by 10 points or less, the most in the Pac-12.
