Senior forward Aaron Fuller added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Southern California (5-8), which never trailed in a game that featured five ties.

Point guard Kevin Dillard scored a team-high 13 points and junior forward Devin Oliver added 11 points, 12 rebounds and three steals to lead Dayton (9-4), which connected on just two of its 14 3-point attempts (14.3 percent) while shooting 34.5 percent from the field.

USC led 37-27 early in the second half before the Flyers rallied to tie it at 51-51 on a 3-pointer by Oliver with 2:49 remaining. The Trojans then took a lead on a jumper by point guard Jio Fontan with six seconds left, but Dayton forced overtime when Dilliard set up Oliver for a layup with a second to go.

The Trojans took an early four-point lead in overtime on a pair of free throws and a tip-in by Fuller. The Flyers closed to within one, 62-61, on a pair of Dillard free throws with five seconds left but after Byron Wesley sank one of two free throws, Dillard missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: USC has held its last five opponents to a combined 20-for-80 shooting (25.0 percent) from 3-point range. ... The loss marked the first time this season that Dayton didn't have a lead in the second half of a game. ... The 20 first half points were the fewest in second-year head coach Archie Miller's tenure with the Flyers. They were also the fewest since Dayton had 19 against Saint Louis on March 2, 2011.
