South Carolina 63, Manhattan 57: Brenton Williams scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half and South Carolina outlasted Manhattan in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Michael Carrera added 13 points and Brian Richardson came off the bench to score 12 as the Gamecocks (8-3) won their third consecutive game.

Freshman reserve Shane Richards buried six 3-pointers and scored 18 points to pace Manhattan (3-7), which saw the momentum turn when coach Steve Masiello picked up a technical foul with just over 12 1/2 minutes left and his team ahead by three points.

The Gamecocks hit all four free throws and Richardson converted a three-point play to cap a 10-0 run to put the Gamecocks ahead to stay.

A 3-pointer by Williams pushed South Carolina's lead to 58-47 with 4:59 remaining but the Jaspers had one last response, getting 3-pointers from Richards and Mohamed Koita to pull within 60-57 with 1:21 left.
