Indiana State 87, Mississippi 85 (OT): Manny Arop recorded a career-high 27 points, including a key basket in overtime, as the Sycamores outlasted the Rebels in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.

Arop’s tip-in gave Indiana State (6-3) an 81-77 lead in the extra period and Jake Odum was 6-of-6 from the free-throw line the rest of the way. Odum finished with 16 points, eight assists and eight rebounds for the Sycamores, while teammate Justin Gant added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Marshall Henderson matched his season-high with 27 points, including a 3-pointer with 16.8 seconds left in overtime to pull Mississippi (8-2) within 85-83. Reginald Buckner had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Murphy Holloway added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Rebels.

The Rebels were hot early, building a 24-14 advantage, before Indiana State got its offense in gear. Arop led the way with 16 points in the opening 20 minutes, including three 3-pointers, as the Sycamores roared back to take a 44-33 lead at the break.

Buckner, who had just two points and one rebound in the first half, helped Mississippi claw back to tie it at 55 with nine points in the first 7:20 of the second half. Nick Williams made a 3-pointer for the Rebels with 1:03 left in regulation to send the game to overtime tied at 75.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Holloway has 30 career double-doubles, most among active SEC players. … RJ Mahurin added 12 points and Dawon Cummings 10 for Indiana State, which will play San Diego State in Sunday's semifinals. … Henderson, a junior college transfer, was 7-of-16 from 3-point range. He has taken 118 shots from beyond the arc this season.
