No. 4 Louisville 79, Florida International 55: Wayne Blackshear tallied 18 points and Peyton Siva posted his third double-double of the season as the host Cardinals rolled to their fifth consecutive win.

Siva contributed 15 points and a season-high 12 assists. Russ Smith and Chane Behanan each scored 14 for Louisville (10-1), which prevailed in the battle between father and son coaches. The Cardinals' Rick Pitino was going against his son Richard, who is in his first season at Florida International.

Tymell Murphy had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Panthers (3-5), whose point total was a season low. Florida International lost its second straight and has dropped three of its past four.

Florida International hung with Louisville early until the Cardinals went on a 10-2 run cued by back-to-back 3-pointers from Smith and Siva to take a 31-19 lead. After the Golden Panthers pulled within seven, Blackshear scored seven consecutive points to put the Cards in front 38-24, their biggest cushion of the first half.

Florida International never recovered. The Golden Panthers tallied just three points in the first six minutes of the second stanza, and Louisville led by 20 or more for the majority of the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: This was the 17th time that a father and son have faced off as head coaches in college basketball. It marked the first such meeting in 12 years. ... Florida International lost its 16th straight road game against a nationally ranked opponent. ... Behanan also led Louisville in rebounding with 11.
