Mike Rosario registered season highs with 20 points and six rebounds as the Gators slowly pulled away from the visiting Lions.

Rosario, who also had four assists, drained four 3-pointers to score his most in a Gators’ uniform since he transferred from Rutgers last season. Michael Frazier II added 12 points and Patric Young chipped in with 10 for Florida (8-1), which held their sixth opponent under 50 points.

Brandon Fortenberry led the way with 15 points for the Lions (1-8), becoming the 17th Southeastern Louisiana player to reach 1,000 career points (1,001). The Lions shot just 29.1 percent from the field.

Florida put together a 12-2 run – 10 from Rosario – to take its biggest lead of 37-19 in the first half. The senior guard finished with 17 in the opening 20 minutes, making seven of his 10 shots from the field, as the Gators settled for a 43-26 lead at intermission.

Southeastern Louisiana was held without a point for the first seven minutes of the second half before Fortenberry’s driving layup trimmed the Florida lead to 50-28. That ended a stretch of 8:44 without a field goal for the Lions.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida’s Kenny Boynton scored seven points to become the fifth Gator to reach 1,700 in his career. He has 1,702, the most of any active player in the SEC. … Roosevelt Johnson, Southeastern Louisiana’s third leading scorer (7.9) was held out with a concussion. … Florida, which improved to 108-6 against non-conference opponents in the last 12 season at home, outrebounded Southeastern Louisiana 21-9 in the first half.
