Miami 72, Central Florida 50: Durand Scott scored 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and the visiting Hurricanes had four players reach double figures to put away the Knights.

Reggie Johnson pitched in 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to notch his fourth double-double of the season for Miami, which has won six straight. The Hurricanes (7-1) turned in another defensive gem, limiting an opponent to less than 50 points for the second consecutive game.

Central Florida (6-3) fell behind early, with Miami charging to a 17-4 lead off the opening tip and the Knights never recovered. Central Florida, which entered the game leading the nation in 3-point shooting percentage, hit just one of its nine attempts from long range in the first half and connected for only 22.7 percent for the game.

Shane Larkin added 11 points, six assists and five rebounds for Miami and Kenny Kadji pitched in 10 points and eight boards in another impressive effort for the Hurricanes, who have won by an average of 17.5 points per game during their winning streak.

Keith Clanton had a team-high 15 points and nine rebounds for Central Florida, which had its three-game win streak snapped.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami improved to 7-1 all time against Central Florida. ... Scott, who was recently named ACC Player of the Week, takes over as the Hurricanes' leading scorer. The senior guard was not in the lineup (suspension) for Miami's lone loss on the season to Florida Gulf Coast. ... The Knights, who ranked second in the nation in shooting percentage coming in, shot 35.4 percent from the field.
