No. 6 Louisville 87, Memphis 78: Chane Behanan scored 16 of his season-high 22 points in the second half as the visiting Cardinals rallied from a 16-point deficit against the Tigers.

Russ Smith added 19 points despite spraining his ankle in the first half. Peyton Siva also had 19 points and seven assists for Louisville (9-1), which scored 59 points in the second half.

Joe Jackson led Memphis (6-3) with a season-high 23 points. Reserve Tarik Black also set a season high by adding 21 points while reserve Geron Johnson contributed 12 as the Tigers committed 24 turnovers.

Memphis appeared poised to pull off the upset on as it led by as many 16 in the first half and opened a 54-44 lead with 12:26 remaining on a Johnson dunk. The Tigers came up empty on their next nine possessions while the Cardinals scored the next 13 points and took the lead for good on a free throw by Montrezl Harrell with 10:14 left.

The Tigers scored their first basket in nearly four minutes on Johnson's layup with 8:40 left but the Cardinals closed it out by getting a 3-pointer from Smith and layups from Behanan and Siva down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Smith injured his ankle with 6:02 remaining in the first half by landing awkwardly on D.J. Stephens' foot after attempting a 3-pointer. ... Stephens injured his left shoulder with 9:58 remaining in the second half going for a steal but later returned. ... The Cardinals have rallied from deficits of nine or more points 14 times over the last three seasons
