Tennessee 69, Wichita State 60: Trae Golden led the way with 25 points as the host Volunteers snapped out of their two-game offensive drought to deal the Shockers their first loss of the season.

Golden's night included a 13-for-16 effort at the free throw line for the Vols (5-3), who combined to go 29-for-36 at the charity stripe.

The Tennessee bench loomed large as Jordan McRae scored 14 of his 17 points during the second half and Yemi Makanjuola added nine points and a team-high eight rebounds. The Vols had scored just 74 total points in their two previous games, both losses, against Georgetown and Virginia.

Carl Hall had a team-high 21 points for Wichita State (9-1), which fell short in its bid to go 10-0 for the first time in team history. Hall made 9 of 10 shots from the field, but the rest of the team combined to shoot 12-of-45.

The game remained close for the duration, with the margin remaining within single digits for all 40 minutes. Wichita State tied the contest at 59-59 with 3:54 remaining on a three-point play by Hall. Tennessee responded by scoring eight unanswered points as part of an 11-1 run to close the game.
