Ryan Evans had 13 points and seven rebounds as the Badgers pulled away in the second half against the visiting Phoenix.

Sam Dekker and Jared Berggren scored 10 points apiece for Wisconsin (7-4), which opened the second half on an 18-6 run and led by 16 after Frank Kaminsky’s dunk with 12:53 remaining. The Badgers shot 56 percent after halftime and improved to 18-1 all-time against Green Bay.

Keifer Sykes paced the Phoenix (3-6) with 14 points and Brennan Cougill recorded his second double-double this season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Green Bay has lost three straight and six of its last seven after starting 2-0.

The Phoenix cut the Badgers’ lead to nine with 7:42 remaining, but Wisconsin responded with five unanswered points and maintained a double-digit cushion in the final minutes. Green Bay lost despite outrebounding Wisconsin, 32-30.

One game after the Badgers made just 9-of-23 free throws in a 60-50 loss at Marquette, Wisconsin was 12-for-20 (60 percent) at the foul line against Green Bay.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wisconsin senior F Mike Bruesewitz missed his second straight game because of a concussion. …The Badgers improved to 172-16 at the Kohl Center since Bo Ryan became coach in 2001-02. …The Phoenix has never scored more than 62 points inside the Kohl Center, where they're winless in 16 games against the Badgers.
