Iowa State 93, Nebraska Omaha 65: Freshman Georges Niang had 15 points to lead six players in double figures as the Cyclones pulled away from the visiting Mavericks.

Tyrus McGee, Will Clyburn and Anthony Booker scored 11 each as Iowa State (7-3) won its 14th straight home game. Chris Babb and Percy Gibson had 10 points apiece and Melvin Ejim collected 13 rebounds for the Cyclones, who had a season-low six turnovers – including two in the first half.

John Karhoff scored 13 points, Marcus Tyus added 12 and Alex Phillips 11 for Nebraska Omaha (2-9), which has lost nine of 10. The Mavericks matched Iowa State by making 11 from 3-point range.

Iowa State scored 18 of the game’s first 20 points before Nebraska Omaha fought its way back to within 22-18 midway through the first half. The Cyclones answered by scoring the next 13 points - six from Niang - and finished with a 52-28 halftime lead.

Nebraska Omaha was able to climb back within 59-45 with 13:30 remaining, aided by three consecutive 3-pointers – two by Phillips. Iowa State responded with a 12-4 run and the Cyclones were on their way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: McGee has made at least three 3-pointers in seven of 10 games. The Cyclones have made at least seven from beyond the arc in all 10 contests. … Nebraska Omaha has lost to four power-six conference teams by an average of 28.8 points. … Iowa State has scored at least 50 points in a half three times this season.
