Scootie Randall collected 21 points and seven rebounds and Anthony Lee scored 16 as the visiting Owls knocked off the Wildcats in a Philadelphia Big 5 battle.

Khalif Wyatt added 13 points and Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson chipped in eight and seven assists for Temple (6-0), which has taken back-to-back games from Villanova for the first time since the 1986-87 and 1987-88 seasons.

James Bell scored 15 points for the Wildcats (4-4), who have started out 0-2 in the Big 5 and have dropped four of five overall.

Villanova held a 36-32 lead at the break, but the Owls scored the first nine points of the second half as Wyatt scored five points and assisted on Lee’s dunk. Randall hit back-to-back 3-pointers as Temple extended it to an 18-2 run to begin the half.

The Wildcats missed their first 10 field-goal attempts after the break and did not connect until Tony Chennault hit a 3-pointer with 9:44 left in the game. Chennault connected from beyond the arc again just over a minute later to draw Villanova within 52-45, but the Owls used a 10-4 burst over the next two minutes to stretch it back out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Owls are 6-0 for the first time in 25 years and won at the Pavilion for the first time since Nov. 29, 1990. … Temple ended up outscoring Villanova 44-25 in the second half. The Wildcats shot 7-for-20 after the break. … Villanova will finish up its Big 5 slate with Penn and St. Joseph's over the next week.
