Guards Trae Golden and Skylar McBee each scored eight points to lead the Vols, who shot 32.6 percent from the floor, including 3-of-16 from 3-point range (18.8 percent).

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tennessee scored four points in the first 10:15 while falling behind 12-4 but the Hoyas answered with a scoring drought of their own and scored four points, all on Hopkins free throws, over the final 10:10 of the first half. ... Georgetown went scoreless for more than six minutes during one stretch in the first half, the 10th time during Cuonzo Martin's 40 games as coach the Vols have held an opponent scoreless for five minutes or more in a game.
