Seton Hall 76, St. Peter’s 61: Fuquan Edwin scored 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting as the host Pirates outscored the Peacocks 47-31 in the second half to win their 17th straight game against their in-state rival.

Gene Teague added 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting for Seton Hall (5-1), which shot 50.9 percent from the field and 87.5 percent (14-for-16) at the foul line. The Pirates improved to 3-0 at home this season.

Blaise Ffrench and Darius Conley scored 14 points apiece for St. Peter’s (3-2).

After a Conley jumper gave the Peacocks an 11-4 lead 6:15 into the game, the Pirates rattled off a 10-0 run. An Elias Desport 3-pointer gave St. Peter’s a 30-29 lead at halftime and a Ffrench layup pushed the Peacocks lead to 38-35 just 2:55 into the second half.

Edwin hit a 3-pointer 53 seconds later to pull Seton Hall even and spark a 14-2 run. Edwin closed the spurt with a three-point play with 13:08 left and a Brandon Mobley free throw pushed the Pirates cushion to 68-48 just 6:35 later. St. Peter’s never threatened down the stretch.

: Aaron Cosby scored 13 points for Seton Hall in his second game back from injury. … Chazz Patterson added nine points for the Peacocks. … St. Peter’s hasn’t defeated the Pirates since 1995.
