West Virginia 87, Marist 44:
Eron Harris led four reserves in double figures with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting as the Mountaineers substituted liberally and coasted past the Red Foxes at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Jabarie Hinds led the starters with 11 points and freshman Terry Henderson went 5-of-8 from the field en route to 14 points for West Virginia (1-1), which shot 52.9 percent from the field after a terrible shooting performance in its opener.

The Mountaineers had 10 days off to correct an offense that shot 27.3 percent in a loss to Gonzaga and looked like a different team Thursday, cutting through the lane for dunks and layups early in the first half. West Virginia scored 10 straight points in the paint during a 12-0 run early in the first half to take control.

Harris scored seven straight points and Henderson buried a 3-pointer during a 17-2 run later in the opening period and the Mountaineers took a 51-19 lead into the locker room. It would stretch to 65-26 with 11:12 left and West Virginia cruised to the finish.

Isaiah Morton was the only player to reach double figures with 10 points for Marist (1-3), which shot 27.1 percent.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Red Foxes’ leading scorer Chavaughn Lewis was held to seven points on 1-of-8 shooting. … The Mountaineers will face Davidson in Friday's semifinals while the Red Foxes take on Vanderbilt in the consolation bracket. … West Virginia did most of its damage on the interior, attempting only nine 3-pointers (connecting on five).
