Georgetown 68, Liberty 59: Greg Whittington scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Hoyas coasted to their second straight victory over the visiting Flames in the Washington Regional of the Progressive Legends Classic.

Trailing 4-0 early, Georgetown (2-0) went on a 17-0 run over a span of 4:22 to take an early 13-point lead and the Hoyas never looked back. Mikael Hopkins added 13 points and Nate Lubick, who had seven points in the early spurt, chipped in 13 and eight rebounds as Georgetown built a 41-25 halftime bulge.

Freshman guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who had 19 in his Hoyas debut Sunday, added 11 points as Georgetown built the lead to 23 in the second half. The Hoyas shot 50 percent from the field.

Liberty (0-3) connected on several 3-pointers late to cut into the final margin. Casey Roberts came off the bench to lead the Flames with 13 points while Tavares Speaks and Davon Marshall added 12 apiece.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hoyas preseason All-American candidate and All-Big East performer Otto Porter Jr. missed the game because of an eye injury suffered early in the win over Duquesne on Sunday. ... Liberty connected on 52.6 percent from 3-point range, making 10 of 19 attempts. ... Georgetown will play UCLA in the championship round of the tournament on Monday at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and then Georgia or No. 1 Indiana in the final game.
