No. 5 Michigan 91, IUPUI 54:
Trey Burke had 22 points and nine assists and Glenn Robinson III made his first eight field-goal attempts and finished with 21 points to lead the host Wolverines in an NIT Season Tip-Off contest.

Michigan junior guard Tim Hardaway, Jr., coming off the fourth double-double of his career in the season opener, contributed 10 points for the Wolverines (2-0). Jordan Morgan also scored 10 points for Michigan. Robinson, a 6-foot-6 freshman forward, finished 8-of-9 from the field and Burke’s assist total tied a career high.

John Hart, who played three seasons at Purdue before graduating and then transferring to IUPUI, scored 15 points - 12 in the first half - to lead the Jaguars (1-1). Hart was the only IUPUI player to score in double figures.

IUPUI reserve guard Jordan Shanklin came off the bench and made three 3-pointers in the first half, the last cutting the deficit to 26-25 with 8:30 left. The Wolverines closed the half on a 19-6 run, however, and the Jaguars never got back within single digits.

The Wolverines shot 33-for-55 from the field (60 percent), including 13-of-21 from beyond the 3-point arc (61.9 percent). Robinson, Burke and Hardaway combined to make nine of their first 10 shots. Robinson had 16 points at the half on 6-for-6 shooting.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wolverines have three players with NBA connections on their roster. The fathers of Robinson and Hardaway starred in the NBA and reserve forward Jon Horford is the younger brother of Atlanta Hawks forward Al Horford. … Hardaway limped off floor with just under 14 minutes remaining and the Wolverines leading by 15. Team trainers massaged his left quad and he later returned. … Ian Chiles, the top returning scorer for IUPUI, did not play because of a toe injury.
